If you have decided to purchase remote control software for business use, there are a few things that you would need to do before you launch a full scale deployment in your company. These things to look out for may seem quite simple, but doing them is important as it can save you and your business from serious potential problems. 

- Make sure you have the right software

Even though this is something that you should have done before purchasing the program, verifying that the remote control software that you're going to be using will meet your needs is important. Check to make sure that it will work and all platforms and devices that it will be used with. Also, take a look at its feature list to be sure that it contains everything that you need.

- Carefully consider who will need the software

Giving access to remote control software only to employees that really need it not only saves you money on additional licenses of the software, but it can also prevent many security issues. Be sure that only employees who have a need to access your corporate network from a remote location, such as sales staff which visit clients or employees that frequently travel on company business are given the software. 

- Consider the security issues

You may want to review some of the security practices that are used in your company before you deploy remote access tools. While remote control tools are highly secure and use numerous access control mechanisms to prevent unauthorized access, the human factor simply cannot be ignored here. Review security policies with your employees, such as not leaving a device unattended, logging off at the end of your session, using secure passwords, etc. Ensure that logs are reviewed by IT personnel such as systems administrators. This can help them verify that all remote access to your corporate network is legitimate and not the result of a security breach.

- Test the software on each type of device that it will be used with

If you're going to use remote access tools with different types of devices, such as desktop PCs, mobile phones, tablets, laptops, etc. that all run different platforms, then running a test of the software on each platform that it will be used with is important. That way, you will know that the program that you will be using works well with every type of device that it will be used on. Testing it beforehand will also allow you to better train your employees on using the software and give them good tips about how to make the most of it, as well as specific issues which could affect some platforms but not others, like controlling a remote desktop more easily on the small screen of a smart phone.
