Skin Care Vitamins and Antioxidants

Antioxidants are an essential part of creating overall bodily health. Hence the age old issue of parents wanting their kids to eat their greens. The reason is that antioxidants are excellent at preventing damage caused by free radicals. These are the cells that attach to healthy cells and cause damage and destruction. Because skin care vitamins contain antioxidants, they can help prevent skin cells from looking damaged (or aged).

Antioxidants in skin vitamins help stop free radical cells BEFORE they are able to damage healthy. Antioxidants are good for your skin, and your entire body. Because of that, many skin care vitamins are starting to include potent antioxidant compounds.

Obtained from pine trees that come from Europe, pine bark extract is a strong anti-inflammatory as well as a great antioxidant.

According to research, pine bark extract can be 20-50 times stronger than antioxidants like Vitamin C or Vitamin E. And it's unique structure helps it to protect against many different types of free radicals.

Acai Berry
Acai Berry is widely known to be a very antioxidant heavy fruit. It's ORAC antioxidant value is extremely high making it an ideal part of any skin care vitamins formula. It's so potent that some researchers have suggested it could help all kinds of health issues.

The phytonutrients in Acai berry make it especially good to include in skin care vitamins, plus it even acts as an astringent to help prevent sagging, wrinkled looking skin.

Grape Seed Extract
Derived by red grape seeds, it contains very large amounts of oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs). OPCs are in many vegetables and fruits which makes them loaded with antioxidants.

Grape seed extract has such strong antioxidants that some people claim it can even help things like cancer or heart disease. Since it is such a strong antioxidant, it makes very good snese that it would be included in skin care vitamins to help reduce wrinkles and make skin look younger and smoother.

As you can see the easiest way to load up on antioxidants is not to drastically modify your diet, although eating more fruits and vegetables is always a good thing, but rather try a special skin care vitamins formula. These are ideal for helping prevent further skin damage, as well as to help skin look younger, firmer, and smoother.
