People worry, worrying always about something or someone. Worry, and what does the Bible Say?
Everyone spends a great deal of time in their life worrying. Everybody worried about grades in school, job interviews, approaching deadlines and shrinking budgets. Every person worries about bills and expenditures, rising gas prices, insurance costs and endless taxes. People bother about first impressions, political correctness, identity theft and contagious infections. Regardless of all the worrying, individuals still survive, and their bills are paid eventually.
In the span of your lifetime, worrying accounts for hours and hours of priceless time which they never get back. So, spend that time more wisely and more enjoyably.
Today is the future a human being worried about yesterday. Worry and worrying never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy, happiness and peace. Remember that everybody a person meets is afraid of something, loves something, and has lost something.
Some biblical reasons NOT to worry, and these Bible quotes are from Matthew, Pete, Luke, Philippians, Proverbs and more.
"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?" (Matthew 6:25-27 NIV)
Worrying accomplishes absolutely nothing. Worrying is a waste of very precious time and will not help a person solve a problem or bring about a solution, so why waste precious time and energy on worry? "Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don't work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are." (Matthew 6:27-29 NLT)
Worrying is harmful to everyone. Worrying is destructive to everyone in lots of ways and worry becomes a mental burden that can even cause human beings to grow physically sick. "Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up." (Proverbs 12:25)
Worrying is the opposite of trusting God. The energy that a person spends worrying can be put to much better use in prayer. Here's something to remember; "Worry replaced by Prayer equals Trust."
"And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?" (Matthew 6:30 NLT)
"Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7 NLT)
Worrying puts an individual's focus in an incorrect direction. When a person keeps their eyes focused on God, they remember His love for all his children then they will realise that they truly do not have anything to worry about. God has a wonderful plan for everyone's lives, and part of that plan includes taking care of his children. Even during the difficult times, when it appears as if God does not care, everyone who believes in Him can take their trust in God and focus on His kingdom. God is going to take care of every need. "That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life-whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn't life more than food, and your body more than clothing?" (Matthew 6:25 NLT)
"So don't worry about these things, saying, 'What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?' These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need." (Matthew 6:31-33 NLT)
"Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you." (1 Peter 5:7 NLT)
The apostle Paul found his strength in God, He reminds everyone that, "I have been in prison, frequently, been flogged severely, and been exposed to death again and again. Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one. Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea, I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my own countrymen, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false brothers. .I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked. .Who is weak, and I do not feel weak? Who is led into sin, and I do not inwardly burn? If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness. .I will not boast about myself, except about my weaknesses. .[God] said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong" (2 Corinthians 11:23-12:10)
"Then Jesus said to his disciples: 'Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?'" (Luke 12:22-26, NIV).
Believing in Jesus Christ is obeying Him. Believing in Jesus Christ is ALL that one needs in ones life. He ALONE is able to hold ones future together forever, enabling oneself to go all the way through life. Instead of men sacrificing their sons, God sacrificed his own son for the sins of men. Believing in Jesus Christ is the only thing that will bring mankind true happiness. This is what gives us "joy unspeakable and full of glory."
Instead of worrying wear a smile. Don't worry, be happy.
