Without Love We Have Nothing

" Emotions Unleashed" is just that, a deluge of sentiment through 25 poems that runs us through the gamut of emotions associated with love and life. The author, Jay Patel, at only 28 years of age seems wise beyond his years as he guides us through the journey of falling in love.

Written over the last five years, Patel has created a compilation that takes us from that first meeting to holding, and never letting go of that special someone. Each poem could exist in a vacuum, but the gravity of this anthology is the work as a whole. Common themes, such as mistrust and loss, weave their way through many of these poems, but the work is clearly meant to be joyous, and it truly is.

While the nature of the heart is certainly the content, this work has a way of answering questions of life and death while showing us that man is, at his/her core, good. A goodness that needs to be embraced in the caring way we walk through this world. It shows us the good we each have inside of us, and reminds us that we simply need an audience.

Born in India, and presently residing in the United States, Patel shares his soul and mind as he reveals the universal nature of love. Without love we have nothing, and without someone to love we have even less. While the joy we feel comes from commitment and caring, it is often born of pain and loss.

Mr. Patel truly wears his thoughts on his sleeve, and I can only say, " Thank You."

As an avid reader, I have read more than 1000 books in my lifetime. This book was definitely one I thoroughly enjoyed. I am passionate about getting people to read. Studies show that more than half the populations of the world are illiterate. Read this book and encourage others to read as well.
