Young children can most certainly identify with the colorful crayon script in child-like handwriting, and can read it with simplicity as it piques their interest further.

From puppies to clouds, from airplanes to mountains, the poems cover a multitude of subjects that are naturally curious to youngsters, and brings them to life in the form of poetry. Keeping the child engrossed with the stories is not a problem due to the brevity and intriguing subject matter, such as baby birds taking their first flights and their fight for survival in the forest.

Beneath the surface of the pages lies practical lessons of life that will be absorbed each time the book is read. Lessons of nature and obedience round this book out nicely.

The arrangement of the poetry in the beginning of the book is pure genius, followed by the short stories to wrap it up nicely in one big package for duel enjoyment. Children, whether reading themselves, or being read to by parents or teachers, there is no question that they will be held captive and want for more.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it to anyone who wants to instill a love for reading and rhyme in their children. It is engaging and well-written. I look forward to the next book from this author.
